Oceans

Wednesday, March 5th, 2014, started out as normal as any day could get.  I got up and took my regular medicine and vitamins.  I had a cup of coffee and ran out the door with Jason to take Maddie and Sam to the dentist in Greenville.   Thankfully, Jason was driving because I started to feel light headed and started drifting in and out of consciousness.  We pulled off the exit at Pelham Road and I asked Jason to pull through the Hardee's parking lot to get me a biscuit.  I said, "Maybe I need to eat something and I will feel better."  So, he pulled though the drive through and got me a steak biscuit and a sprite.  I ate half of the biscuit while we found our way to the dentist's office.  When we got there I was still feeling woozy so I stayed in the car while Jason took the children in.  He opened my car door and said, "How are you feeling?"  It had been 20 minutes since went inside and I didn't know any time had passed.  I thought he had just walked around from the other side of the car!  So, he immediately called EMS and they were there in less than five minutes, where they loaded me up

Friday, The day I have dreaded for 13 years came.  The conversation with the doctor where he said,  "It's time."   Time to start dialysis.  That also meant it was time to remove both of my kidneys.  My kidneys have gotten so large (estimated at around 20 lbs) that the pain became unnecessary to bare because they aren't working well enough to keep me off of dialysis any longer.   I was overwhelmed, afraid and yet, relieved.

"Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)"

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
[x6]

I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
